About Emry

I graduated from University of Glasgow with a Philosophy M.A. in 2021. I'm still very passionate about the field, but after lockdown I decided the best decision would be to get a traditional job and focus on my own writing as a hobby. I now work as a chef while performing open mic poetry most weeks and writing short stories. For me, tutoring is a way to supplement my income so that I can spend more time on my writing. My hope is to begin publishing my work soon, and then rely on that and tutoring as my main income.

As for me, I'm a friendly and sociable person who enjoys meeting new people. I find learning and teaching to be very enjoyable and my enthusiasm rubs off on my students. I also enjoy music, films and videogames, as well as rollerskating when the weather is a bit nicer. LGBT+ friendly.

About the lesson

Experience as a High School TA and leading seminars as part of my Master's degree, my teaching method is equal parts empathetic and passionate. I try to help my students really enjoy the subject they're learning, while also being able to present complex ideas in simple intuitive language.

Lessons themselves will be tailored to the needs of the student, with speciality in the literary arts, history, philosophy, and religious studies. I've also achieved A's in Higher English, Maths, Physics and Art, and can tutor maths and sciences at a high school level

Lessons are 1-2 hours long on a flexible timetable. Any day availability if organised a week ahead of time.

Suitable for GCSE/Highers students up to Undergrads.
