About Isobel
I'm Isobel, I'm originally from London, and I'm in my final year of an English Literature and Creative Writing degree at the University of Surrey. I have just recently returned from a year studying in Australia, and in my free time I love to write, see my friends and I'm a ballroom and Latin dancer. Other than that am always learning. I have always loved English, both reading and analysing literature, and writing my own short stories, articles for magazines, and a novel. I believe that without innate passion for the subject, English can be tricky. It does not come with a quantifiable step-by-step method to get a right result like maths does, but it does allow the individual holding the pen, or reading a text, to shine through. I want my students to see the power in that!

English
English is subjective, and thus so are my lessons. Each tutee will have strengths and weaknesses, the former of which can be emphasised to prove how lovable English can be, the latter of which can be remedied with patience and precise tasks to suit the particular needs of the pupil. With every text we will begin by talking about context, devices and meaning, then take the intimidating task of writing an essay and turn it into manageable bite-sized chunks. Bit by bit, we will conquer the texts!
