Hi! I have over five years of special education experience, which taught me to focus on you while keeping firm boundaries. I am here to listen to your goals and preferences. We will work together to use words to achieve your goals, no one else's. Reading and writing is an indispensable tool with which to navigate the world and ourselves. Human society is built on communication, and, whether you like reading or not, it is important. I want to build you up to be able to advocate for yourself, and make educated decisions about your future.

My conviction is that a student-led approach is the most effective approach. My experience in Montessori has taught me my favorite method: respecting a student's autonomy and providing choices. No one has found success in a structure in which we have no power. I focus on achievable, interest-driven assignments that build confidence before offering a challenge. A typical lesson would be reading a text that sparks passion in my student. I lead them through decoding the linguistic choices of the author, what makes the text successful, as well as what impressions can be taken from the work.
