About Harvard

Hello!

My name is Harvard Lewis and I am the chief instructor at Lewis' Martial Arts America. I've trained in the martial arts over 45 years and have had a professional training center for over 27 years.

I hold a 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do (ITF), 4th Degree in Goju Ryu, 4th Degree in Combat Hapkido and a 2nd Degree in Chung Do Kwon Tae Kwon Do. All of which gives our training a unique flare and is an integral component in the positive shaping of lives.

Our training, when developed, can provide Focus, Concentration, Elevated Awareness and Confidence.

Our program is designed to teach students, regardless of age, how to develop into the type of person that is always prepared to do his or her absolute best and become an example for others to follow.

It gives me great joy and pleasure to see students build Confidence to make the right choices in life. Choices like deciding on the appropriate behavior to take in certain situations or choosing the right friends that helps them become the people they want to be.

I started training when in college. After college, I did Law Enforcement and Fire Fighting as well as a host of other jobs. I trained in another Martial Arts Facility and began training others. From there, I got my start and later opened my own Martial Arts Center.

During my years of being a professional Martial Arts Center, I've honed business and physical skills by active participation in seminars hosted by professional martial arts marketing organizations such as EFC (Educational Funding Company), NAPMA (National Association of Professional Martial Artist) and AFKA (American Freestyle Karate Association).

I first meet with the prospective student and go through a short intro lesson with him or her so they can see exactely what we have to offer.

If they like what they experience, we then talk about:  1) Tuition   2) The School's Curriculum and it's Benefits  3) And the Class Times to make certain it fits their Schedule

Through the years, I've trained children, teens and adults from asorted backgrounds. Many have gone on to become Nurses, Business Owners, Doctors, Law Enforcement and Military Personel.

When looking for a class to get involved in, call and speak with an instructor. The most important thing is knowing how comfortable you feel after having that conversation and visitation with the instructor.

A fond and recent event for me was simply speaking with an old martial arts friend that I hadn't spoken with in 8 to 10 years. That was great!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Questions that an individual should think through before speaking to an instructor will depend solely upon what that individuals needs are. It is important to understand what those needs are and then ask questions pertaining to those needs.
