About Ravi

I studied History and IR before completing my History PGCE at the University of Oxford. I’ve always been interested in why people make the decisions they do, whether that’s in history, politics or current affairs, and I enjoy talking through those ideas with students.

I prefer tutoring to feel like a conversation rather than a formal classroom. I’ll explain things simply, challenge you when I think you can do better, and happily go over something again if it hasn’t clicked.

Outside teaching, I play and coach cricket, follow football and enjoy travelling. I’ve taught History, RE and Politics from Year 7 to Year 13, as well as Geography up to Year 11.

English

I am a History teacher with a PGCE in History from the University of Oxford and classroom experience teaching History and Politics from Year 7 to Year 13, Religious Studies from Year 7 to Year 13, and Geography from Year 7 to Year 11.

My teaching is tailored to each student and their individual needs. I use clear explanations, questioning, discussion, practice tasks and regular feedback to build both subject knowledge and confidence. For GCSE and A level students, I place particular emphasis on exam technique, essay structure, source and interpretation questions, revision strategies and practising exam-style questions. I can help students understand difficult topics, consolidate their knowledge and prepare effectively for examinations.

Lessons typically last one hour, although I can be flexible depending on the student's age and requirements. I am happy to provide regular weekly tuition or more intensive revision and exam preparation.

My experience teaching in schools means I understand the demands of different year groups and can adapt lessons accordingly. I can support students who are struggling with a subject, looking to improve their grades, preparing for exams or aiming for the highest possible results.

I offer tuition to students from Year 7 through to Year 13, with particular expertise in History, Religious Studies and Politics, as well as Geography up to Year 11.
